Ahh, just testing you there sean,
I did know really that the probes had to touch connectors not just the wires,
and yes i now get a reading of 12.17 and 5.13.
    Now to step 8

    Re: help ref wiring

At step 8, should i use the wires from the main set of wires, the same bunch that i used the grey and other black from?
I got a 12v bulb downstairs somewhere, just going to go get it.

And when this all works what can i do about all them other bunches of wires, can they be cut off or do they stay, just asking as
there is loads of them and they look untidy.

You can use any wire you want, from any plug. All yellows are +12v and all blacks are common (or ground).

You can cut off the wires you don't need, but the un-protected ends is not good practice. At the very least, put a small piece of insulating tape over the bare ends. I'd test the AFDS first, then if you want to reduce the number of cables, we can discuss that seperately.

    Sean, YOU ARE A LEGEND!!

The afds works a treat, I definatly owe you a few beers when we meet,
There is no way I would have been able to do this without your help.

This is one of the many reasons why mycockpit.org is such a great site with like minded
people like yourself who will devote time and PATIENCE to people like myself who want
to progress but dont quite have the neccesary skills in certain departments.

    Thank you very much!

Can we tidy up all them extra wires now please Well tommorow anyway.

    Regards

    steve

Hey, that's great. I waited up just to see if you got them working!

Glad I could help you out Steve. Looking forward to those beers...
