Welcome to the site Hadrien. Yes, this is the crazy farm, and you're welcome to stake out a few hectacres anywhere you like.

I am based at de Gaulle and run Air France Virtual in association with our sister airline Delta Virtual. Been in and out of your neck of the woods several hundred times and know the area well.

In fact my home town of Belleville, Illinois was named after the town of Belleville not too far from Paris.

Sometimes I go to De Gaulle airport for taking photos and they are a lot of Delta . I forgot to tell my age, Iam 17 years old. I am a GP of Air France ( gratify personnality ) so when I take the plane, I go in the cockpit on the jumpseat , It's very interessant. The last flight on the jumpseat was a Paris Orly / Marrakesh with a A320.

Wow they still let people in the jumpseat? That is awesome. Welcome to the group, Hadrien.

They aren't as paranoid in Europe as they are in the States. But the regulation in the FAR's still states anyone can sit in the jumpseat with no stipulations at the captain's descretion. However, US airline management probably forbids it under any circumstances unless it is an authorized person.

    Sec. 125.315

    Admission to flight deck.

    (a) No person may admit any person to the flight deck of an airplane unless the person being admitted is--
    (1) A crewmember;
    (2) An FAA inspector or an authorized representative of the National Transportation Safety Board who is performing official duties; or
    (3) Any person who has the permission of the pilot in command.
    (b) No person may admit any person to the flight deck unless there is a seat available for the use of that person in the passenger compartment, except--
    (1) An FAA inspector or an authorized representative of the Administrator or National Transportation Safety Board who is checking or observing flight operations; or
    (2) A certificated airman employed by the certificate holder whose duties require an airman certificate.

I reassure you, it is not easy to go in the cockpit. Often I say that I am impassioned of aviation and that I want to become pilot one day. If you want I would put the photos of the flight when I was on the jumpseat. ( Paris Orly LFPO/Montpellier Mediterrannée LFMT with a A320 Air France, Montpellier Mediterrannée LFMT/ Paris Orly LFPO with a Fokker 100 Brit Air by Air France and Paris Orly LFPO/Marrakesh with a A320 Air France )
The next flight for me is Monday 30 July it's a Marseille LFML/Paris Orly LFPO with a A320 Air France. I would try to go in the cockpit ...
While waiting the photos go to see here http://tripreport.aviapassion.fr/dat...port.php?id=49 ,

it's my photos of a flight Paris Orly LFPO/Nice Cotes d'Azur LFMN , the date is 2005.

Nice pictures, Did they fill in the bay to build up the land for that airport? Looks like they made the land, airport and all.

    Bonjour Hadrien,
    Welcome to this wonderful site.
Maybe we can meet someday in Paris as I go there regularly from AMS to CDG.
    Enjoy!
