Do you think this could work?
Hi guys
I know that this is not the best solution, but I think that this just might be a great intermediate solution to the CDU problem for those of us who are on a really tight budget and cant afford a hardware solution at the time.
See this:

Do you think it would be possible to have a 2nd monitor running off of the FS Server showing the above CDU/FMS (which could be placed down on the center pedestal lying flat) and it would send it's flight plan info to the PMRJ ND just like the default flight planner does? If so, then that would really rock my socks because on the Lear45, the center pedestal has a bit of flexibility in how the customer orders it and it wouldnt be all that unrealistic except for the mouse, of course!

Actually this does not look like a bad suggestion.....

Im waiting to hear back from support for the product to see what they say. My only real concern is if it will...
1) Display the flight plan info on the default GPS/L45 panel (which means it should in theory show in PMRJ's ND page)
2) If I can run FS in Full Screen, but have the CDU on the 2nd monitor running windowed? Issues here and is that even possible or would it be better to be full screen too?Last edited by Tomlin; 07-18-2007 at 04:01 PM. Reason: add-on

I can tell you that this will not show the flight plan in the ND.. But there is a way to get the FS flightplan to show up there. This software is not goingto talk to PM.

Bob, Im all ears. I realize it wont 'talk' to PM, but how would I be able to get the FS FP to show up?

Thanks Bob, I am guessing that you mean the docs for PM. Also, I just found out (very little) about a freeware FMC called Scumari. I did a Google search and there's only bits and pieces of info out there, but it does run on a seperate network and all, so I may give it a try since it sounds like it may work too.
Thanks for your help always,

Just as a followup from Ernie Alston on this idea- he says that in all likely hood this wont work. Just wanted to let you all know what I found out in case it was considered by yourselves.

Actually you have to convert the plan with software that PM has on there web site and stick it in one of the directory's... Maybe the Net Dir.. Will see if I can remember how it works as it probably is no longer talked about in the docs but I am sure they have not removed the capability. So the short answer is yes you can display the FS flight plan in the ND without the CDU software.. I just found some free MCP software as well looking at it. I think someone here pointed me to it.
