CTR/ARC Views in NAV Extended Mode
Hi All,
I'm trying to select the CTR display mode for the Nav display in the Extended Page for Glass Cockpit (B747) but it does not seem to work for me. Usually the "C" key switches between ARC/CTR but this function does not seem to work in Extended mode.
Has anyone come accross this or an alternative method of switching? I want to leave the FO display on CTR mode by default.
Many Thanks
Rob.

Rob,
I'm only familiar with the 737, but this may be applicable to 747 as well. Apparently. the ARC/CTR function for the FO cannnot be changed from the EFIS panel on the 737 (known issue I believe). However, you can change it if you do it from the CDU. You can select the FO ND display in the CDU and change it there. I'm assuming of course I did not misunderstand your question .

Thanks for that.
Can you point me in the right direction as to where that menu is in the cdu - can't seem to find it.
Basically - all I want to do is to have the FO permanently in CTR mode on the NAV display. (i.e. round radar view, not arced). This is easy when useing a standard view but I can't seem to set in when useing "Extended" mode.
Many Thanks
Rob.

Rob,
Center mode is what I use all the time for the F.O. ND. You can change that by going to Main Menu, then select EFIS R (LSK 2R), then ND (LSK 2L), then CTR (LSK 5L).
This toggles the first officer ND between CTR & ARC views (for my 737 anyway . It should likely do the same on a 747 hopefully.

Hi again,
Found that on the CDU and unfortunatly it does not change the ND at all.
The only lsk that works is the one for "plan mode". Are you running in Extended mode on your glass cockpit? Perhaps that cdu function only works in the normal mode???
I'd be happy if there was just an ini setting i could use the have it permanently changed.
Many Thanks
Rob.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'Extended mode' . I have one hardware CDU and I also have the F.O. software running. So, I do everything from the captain CDU and not from the RCDU that comes with the F.O. software.
Once I set it up for CTR, it always stays there when I re-boot and I never have to change it. I'll check tonight whether I can see an ini setting for that.

I'm using EFIS panels from Aerosoft MCP747, so I don't use keyb commands, but I thing F/O PFD/ND displays have different commands than the Capt site.
Unfortenately I can't find anything back in the documentation. The F/O commands are hardcore programmed in Enrico's MCP747 driver.
