The Swedish charter airline Novair became a new Airbus A321 operator when it took delivery of its first Airbus A320 Family aircraft from the manufacturers assembly line in Hamburg. In total, Novair will receive two A321s, both leased via the US-based International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). Airbus A321 is the largest A320 Family member and the most economical aircraft in its class offering the lowest seat-mile-costs in this segment.

The delivery to Novair underlines Airbus success in the low fares market. With nearly 400 Airbus A320 Family aircraft in operation and on order from European budget operators, Airbus is the clear market leader in this segment.

The carriers A321s will be powered by V2500-A5 engines from International Aero Engines. Novair will use the aircraft on its charter services from Scandinavian cities to holiday destinations around the Mediterranean. The airlines passengers will profit from unmatched comfort in the cabin, a benefit of all Airbus A320 Family aircraft, which consists of the A318, A319, A320 and A321. The widest and most spacious cabin in the single-aisle category will allow Novair to offer long-range comfort on medium-haul routes. The aircraft has been configured to seat 199 passengers in a comfortable single-class layout.

As Novair already operates two Airbus wide-body A330-200s the carrier will benefit from Airbus unique operational communality. All members of the Airbus aircraft family share commonality in airframes, on-board systems, flight decks and handling characteristics, pilots, cabin crews and maintenance engineers can easily switch from one Airbus aircraft to another. This allows much more flexibility and efficiency when it comes to operational planning. It also saves training time and significantly reduces operating costs.

The leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive product line on the market, Airbus is a global company with design and manufacturing facilities in France, Germany, the UK and Spain as well as subsidiaries in the US, China and Japan.
