Next project;ADF or Transponder. Wat would you recomend?
Hello,
I am working on my pedestal and still need aleast one ADF radio and a transponder.
Which Item do you find more useful, or mandatory? Since I dont have either one, Im not sure which one to focus on next for a mini-project.
Any Advise?

Polmer,
the transponder, no doubt. If you fly with ATC, that's the first thing they ask you to set.
ADF can be auto-tuned , so bother with that later.

As I fly in Europe quite a bit, the ADF is indespensible to me.
That might not be a big priority in an electric jet, but it's a pretty important nav-aid in mine.
Heck, get both!Boeing Skunk Works

If you fly glass, and FMC I would suggest Transponder, as I hardly ever use adf. Most Sid/Stars are flown by FMC, therefore unless your going in and out of remote strips, ADF Is not going to be used as much.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I am fly mostly IFR glass cockpit right now, but I also enjoy tuning radios manually. Sounds like both are both useful and enjoyable.
