Having PM MCP Software on the Flt Sim Server PC

    Enrico,

Just would like to find out if having the MCP Software installed on the
Flight Sim SERVER PC where the MS FS9 is would drop the frame rates of the FS9
visuals. I am thinking of utilising my other PC's for other software and
hence shift the Boeing MCP to the SERVER FS9 PC would be a good idea. See the
attached file from any idea on the net.

Just to interject here, my main test system and previous cockpit setup had
the MCP running in the background on the Server PC with FS, and there was no
noticeable ill effect. On the contrary, I think it is a good place for it
-- provided you don't need to use its graphics of course. Keep it minimised
    or invisible.

The Server PC I am talking about is a Pentium 3.2 with the hyperthreading
facility, so that may help -- I believe the second "processor" isn't used by
FS in any case. However, I doubt that it will be noticeably detrimental even
on a single processor system provided it was fast enough in the first
    place.

I also suspect that some of which you may lose by an extra process is
compensated for by the absence of a lot of Network-borne control inputs to FS when
the MCP is active in aircraft operations.

    Regards,

    Pete

Having PM MCP Software on the Flt Sim Server PC

    Pete,

Thanks for the info. I'm just experimenting a bit with all my available PC's
to get the best arrangement to suit me according to the Processor power
    available to me.

I will looking into your suggestions and contact Enrico for more Computer ID
    codes.

    Regards,
    Chris

It shouldn't be an issue, in any case I personally find that the MCP is best

on a WideClient computer in my setup, but I have a relatively slow FS
computer (not for much longer, I hope).

    Ciao

    Enrico
