Fun Time in Van Nuys
Hi,
just wanted to share a first set of photos from Van Nues, where I visited
Clay Lacy aviation... they have one of PFC's sims there and it is being put
to very good use.
While we were there, we wwere invited for a short flight on Magic Johnson's
Gulfstream 4... they had to make a short test flight of one hour and I
didn't hesitate to board. But only when the door was closed and we were
taxiing to the runway did they tell me that the test was because of some
very strange vibrations from the left engine. Lots of fun with the 6000
ft/min 330 IAS descent and the steepest turns I could possibly imagine on a
civilian jet.
The whole airport was very interesting, they claim it is the busiest
business jet airport in the US, I counted four BBJs, many many Gulfstreams
(including the G5) and saw how a dog was flown to its owner on the Bahamas
n
a G4. A small white pooch.
Also had a rather massive Hertz upgrade, and Eric of PFC is standing in
front of it. Next life: porn producer.
Ciao
Enrico

Hi Enrico!
Nice to see you had some fun!
That is not a GIV in your picture. Maybe a GIII?
GIV has a longer fuselage with 6 windows.
Neither are still in production.

Oops, they told me it was a V4 when I was in it, and I have several aircraft
photos I could have messed up.

Re: Fun Time in Van Nuys
Enrico,
I notice that your attire was totally colour co-ordinated with the interior
of the Gulfstream. Was this intentional?
You look totally comfortable in that situation.
You will have to leave the Rolls in the US - you will never get it around
some of the hair-pin bends in Italy.
cheers

Oh, I was just kidding about the Rolls, I got merely a Jaguar S-Type instead
of the usual Lincoln this time.
Ciao
