Revised test version of wideFS (6.414)
Hi folks,
Here is the latest interim test version of WideFS modules WideClient and
WideServer. They are now at version 6.414. Please replace the previous interim
version of WideClient (6.412) I uploaded here.
These are more finely tuned and so far seems to give excellent service, even
to multiple PM modules running on the same client.
As before, please do retain your main versions for now and let me know how
you get on with these.
Regards,
Pete

Seems to work even better than 6.412 in my (mouseclicker only...) setup.

Re: Revised test version of wideFS (6.414)
Pete,
Not sure why but I can't seem to extract WideClient.exe from the zip file. I
can extract WideServer, but I get an "Error copying file" message on
WideClient.
I've tried redownloading, clearing the cache etc but to no avail.
Could you possibly repost the zip file again?
Cheers
Simon.

Re: Revised test version of wideFS (6.414)
Hi Simon,
I had the same problem.
Download it from ProjectMagenta.Support-site direct -- NOT with Outlook
Express.
I did the same and then it works.

Yes, you should be able to, easily. In my case there are three differences:
1. I am running 3 (three) copies of PFD.EXE -- Captain's PFD/ND, EICAS+Stby,
and FO's PFD/ND. Of these the Captain's PFD/ND runs the fastest, the other
two have "UseTimer=On" parameters and run slower -- about 10-12 data rate
normally. without the UseTimer there are occasional jerks as the three PFDs
compete for WideClient.
2. The PC is not a 3GHz but a 2.4GHz.
3. The Parhelia on that PC is a 256, not a 512. The 512 is on my FS PC (the
Server) which is a 3.2GHz.
It is smooth enough, for sure. But I am waiting for the happy day when Enrico
will have made all those displays work in one window with one copy of
PFD.EXE. He started on this, and there is a demo mode for it, but it doesn't
work properly.
If you don't want the F.O. displays you can already do it all in one Window
in any case, so if that's what you want to do that's what I would
recommend.
Regards,
Pete
