Question about Cessna trim wheel
Hi,
I'm building now cessna 172 trim wheel and I want to use a potentiometer for trim level regulation. But potentiometers are rotating only in 275 (or 270) degrees so what do you think? It's will be ok or I should use gearwheel? or maybe use encoder instead of potentiometer? The simulator will not be an exact replica of the Cessna 172 aircraft.
Look at my project:

Sorry for language mistakes
Thanks for reply

Re: Question about Cessna trim wheel
You need to use a 10 turn pot like this one. I use one of these for my GA trim wheel, and it works really well

Re: Question about Cessna trim wheel
Are these 10 turn pots seen as an axis or button clicks like a encoder?
Cheers,

Re: Question about Cessna trim wheel
Hi Alex,
10 turn pots are just like regular pots electronically so they will appear like an axis.
Tom.
