Boeing 727 Throttle Progress
I started this project because I wasn't satisfied with commercial offerings and the fact that no one builds a 727 throttle. Had I been able to afford a real 727 quadrant, I might have bought that and modified it instead, but that wouldn't be half as much fun...
This photo below is the latest. I temporarily assembled most of it to mark the locations of the 23 screws for which I had to drill and countersink into the housing. It will be dis-assembled again for continuing work on the linkage and wiring.

Wow, this is amazing building. Thanks for posting these pictures, inspiring.
I see a trend of emerging 727 builders. A co-worker used to pilot the 727, but he is in IT now (poor soul). Whenever I tell him about the 727 related postings his eyes begin to shine and het talks like it's the love of his life. So there must be something special about the 727.
Keep us posted please.Kester Meijer

For me there is. I just love everything about this airplane. Had my past turned out a little more in my favor, I thought one day I would have flown the B727 for a living.
I received the Stab Trim and Stab Trim Cutout switches today, and as a bonus, my overhead interior lighting light plates arrived for my overhead.
I bought the exterior lighting panel light plate from an e-Bay seller who is also in the process of building a 727. He wrote and asked if I needed anything else before it was put up for auction.
I told him I needed the rest of the overhead light plates if he had them. He did, and offered to sell all three to me for $105 US. I jumped on that in a second. These light plates are so rare, I've never seen them for sale in the last three years I've been working on this.
These light plates cost hundreds of dollars when new if ordered from the manufacturer or a spares dealer. They all work and a good cleaning and a coat of wax makes them look brand new.
Thanks for the comments. I hope your friend has a chance to have a look.

Re: Boeing 727 Throttle Progress
Hi,
Have a 727 TQ with center pedestal housing. Picked it up a few years back at a local boneyard. It's been partially disassembled, but should be able to gather up all the pieces.
It needs some TLC. A friend and neighbor who was a machinist was going to work on it, but saddly he passed away unexpectedly two years back and now it just sits there. If you're interested can send down some pics.
