    Canbus?

    Anybody looked at the PIC controllers with CANBUS support? Makes, I would think, an elegant alternative to RS232/422?

    Unfortunately computers doesn't support CANBUS directly, so you would need some kind of converter or adapter.
    I think USB is already a valid alternative to RS232.
