My new baby (MIP)
(click on the image to get to my website)
There you go, gents! The new - and VERY improved - MIP from FDS has arrived and the assembly has started. I'll try to update the website along the road. If you click on the image above, you'll allways get the latest update on my MIP. Be sure to scroll upwards in case you missed something.
The new MIP is awesome, and the IBL panels are stunning! I am waiting for more parts to complete it. I will order knobs from simknobs - they are backligtable, and the FDS IBL panels is made with that purpose in mind.
Hopefully, I will finish building my throttle quadrant (simparts) this summer.
Will try to publish updates along the way. After all - images from other simbuilders is what drives my motivation. I guess that is the story for others as well..

Looks great Vidarf. Is that sheet steel or aluminum? Really looks good man.

It's steel. Aluminium would be far too "flimsy".

I thought it might have been steel. It looked a little thin for aluminum.
I like how all of the panel holes line up with no annunciator lamps in the way of a monitor.
Wish they'd have designed the 727 like that 45 years ago.Boeing Skunk Works

Mines in six pieces! Think how happy I was when mine looked like a single MIP instead of a collection of Boeing scrap.

I know you're kidding, but the panels from this aircraft were completely servicable as were all of the Korry indicators. I found only four bad bulbs but both had two bulb indicators.
I guess UPS and Fed-Ex didn't want them or their configuration was different.
The worst offender was the APD I bought from e-Bay to replace the installed APD. That one had 19 bad bulbs out of a possible 36 bulbs installed. I got it fixed up right though.
I had to replace the APD because it was configured with a 727 using the PMS (no, not your wife's PMS) with the correct APD without PMS. Different indicator lamps you know.Boeing Skunk Works
