PMDG 737 Push back
Is it possible to change the distance that PMDG pushes back before it turns left or right?
I use it to push back at most airports, but it starts to turn to early, some time I crash into AI traffic parked next to me.
Can anyone help?

Strange! My PMDG will only go straight backwards, I can't turn it and wish I could.

As far as I remember you can assign a key stroke for left and right - not on the sim box at the mo but will look later...
Daveanne, you tried pressing the pushback key again once you have gone far enough - cant remember whether that then stops it??

default keys:
shift + P push back
change direction at any time you want during pushback are the directional keys on the keyobard.
eg. Shift+P
5 seconds later -->
simple!

I will try to explain the early turn.
When you hit Shift P you probably push 1 or 2 at the almost same time.
When you hit 1 for left, the tail of plane is in a certain position. When the nose wheel comes to that position the pushback turns the plane.
So, hit shipt P for pushback. wait some time until your tail is where you want your plane to start the turn. Then hit 1 or 2, the plane will start to turn when the nosewheel reaches the spot where you tail was when you hit 1 or 2
Difficult to explain beacuse my limited english, but hope you understant

An other option is using the gauges made by Rob Barendregt. I have it in my 737 and it does a beautifull job of the push back. Conversation between captain and groundcrew and you can adjust the distance for straight pushback, turn degree etc.
Do a search for rcbgh-40.zip (FS9) or rcbgh-50.zip (FSX) on Avsim

And also remember - don't change views during pushback or it will only go straight back (FS9)

Hi,
I have not had any trouble with pushback. When I'm not using AES, I use the PMDG Key Commands I have programmed. To start the pushback, I use a button that = shift P. Then when I want to turn the plane, I then use either a left or right command, and then the shift P button to stop the pushback. While the aircraft is being pushed back I can change windows without affecting the pushback.
The keystrokes/button I use for left and right are C for left and N for right.
