Cockpit instruments on networked computers
I was wondering what people here would recommend for allowing various instrument panels for an aircraft to be slaved to other computers other than the one driving the main visuals. I'm aware that there is software like Project Magenta out there, but what are the alternatives that you guys are using?
Another thought, is that if you can share a plane in FSX, presumably you can allow the shared computer to display instruments allowing the sharing machine to drive the visuals and take control input. I've not tried this, yet it should work. Anyone try this or know any limitations about this?
thank youVANCOUVER
Jet fighter / single pilot sim, plus thinking of a 777 as a secondary sim.

If you build a cockpit and I build a cockpit and we share a virtual cockpit, then I don't see any reason why it would not work. As long as it is FSX of course...

Paul,
There are a number of options depending on what you want/need.
Some people undock stock panels / custom panels from the sim itself and put them on multiple monitors.
For networked computers there are a number of pieces of gauge/panel type software I am aware of that includes, but is not limited to:
Project Magenta
PS1
FreeFD
FSXpand
Ellie Systems (not released yet)
Cockpitware
FS2Phidget
Danny Ho's TACAS http://spirellis.com/tacas/
Jayco Gauges
AOG Add On Gauges
FlyReal Airbus Glass Cockpit Gauges
Aircraft Simulations (Airbus)
Peixsoft GA Gauges
