Re: New simbuilder
This video is by one of our very own members im sure Nigel wont mind me posting it. I use this board on my overhead and its a great start for a beginner, They do look complicated but they are very very easy to interface.

Re: New simbuilder
We had a poll here not very long ago and the general feeling was that it all very much depends on how far you want to take the simulator build, for example if you wanted dual linked yokes you may want to start at the floor. Many people want to start with fully functional systems, so would possibly start with the overhead followed by the mip.
Personally i didn't set myself a goal and now i wish i did, i just started with the mip and progressed from that point, but now im looking at linked yokes and a full overhead is on order, something i didn't think about when i made a shell/enclosure. So scale is now an issue for me.
Others sort out fantastic curved screen visuals first and build from there.
Basically you need to think to the future of what the end result is that you want, if there is such a thing as a completed sim lol and then research everything, read everything and dont be afraid to ask questions.
The search feature here is invaluable and as everyone says "a picture speaks a thousand words" so the gallery is also a great place to hang out.
