Building a CDU for PMDG 737NGX (Need more SimConnect Inputs)

    Hello,

First of all congratulations for the Link2fs. I was thinking for a long time now to build a CDU with the arduino as I am very familiar with the coding philosophy and its features. Today I discovered the link2fs and I started playing around.

My first goal is to build the board with all the buttons and leds and next to attach a display.

By using the PMDG SDK memory reference I managed to control the CDU by sending inputs through Expert mode -> Simconnect inputs. As far as I can understand my arduino must be coded to print to the serial console the corresponding identifier which is connected with the relevant Simconnect event (ex. Y01 -> #70167 ~ L_CDU upper left button).

My question (probably silly) is that I need 69 inputs for the CDU and the link2fs has only 25. How can I program the rest of the features so I can send them through the arduino board?

    Thank you,

    Tasos

Try running 3 separate instances of Link2fs_multi with 3 separate arduino Mega cards.

Actually, 2 Megas and an Uno might do the trick.

Its a work around until Jim adds more custom simconnect variables.

Actually I was thinking to have only one board by using shift input registers to handle all the buttons. It won't be easy to have 3 usb cables attached and every time starting three instances of the link2fs.

Maybe it's time to start thinking about a custom software which will work on the same theory (read inputs from serial console) and send data to fs via simconnect.
