    Question ILS module on Pedestal

    Hi Nico,

    You have a very nice self-made ILS Module on your pedestal.

    I was looking for the similar module on internet but unfortunately I've not been able to find any commercial sites where I could buy them.

    Is it possible to use combination of OC NAV Module and OC MCP to achieve the same result as your ILS module?

    Thanks,

    Gr, Mladen

    Re: ILS module on Pedestal

    Hi Mladen,

    Yeah that is possible, there are sufficient 7-segment displays and there is a dual rotary, you only have to write the right SIOC script...
    A combination with the MCP is not even necessary, you could use the TFR button to switch the rotary from controlling FREQ to CRS and vice versa.

    Regards,
    Nico

    Re: ILS module on Pedestal

    Hi Nico,
    In one of the Lekeecon forum topics I found the link to NAV/ILS script (http://www.lekseecon.nl/downloads/ils9.zip). Unfortunately this link is not functional anymore. Is there a chance you still have that script somewhere available.
    Is there a special reason you did not make a script for OC NAV module?

    Re: ILS module on Pedestal

    Hi Mladen,

    In the lekseecon\cockpit767 folder you'll find 3.2_Vor1.txt, 3.8_Vor2.txt and 5.12_ILS.txt.

    Yes there are a number of reasons why I did not make a script for the OC NAV module:
    1) I do not have such a module
    2) I do not work for Opencockpits
    3) The Leveld_D 767 VOR1 and VOR2 do not have a Standby frequency, the right window shows the CRS; so the 'match' is not very good.
    4) My spare time is limited; I'm still working and I have a wife ...
    5) This month with the Soccer World Cup my spare time is even more limited.

    Groeten,
    Nico

    Thank you for for pointing me out into the right direction (path).
    Indeed, quite a number of reasons not writing the script for OC NAV module.
    I'll let you know about my programming progress...
    Have fun with all the things you do...

    Re: ILS module on Pedestal

    Hi Mladen,

    Well, it did not take me much time so, to help you, here it is, an ILS script for your Opencockpits NAV module
    It compiles okay, so if you can test it, together we will make it happen.

    You should compile this script together with my file cockpit767\1_Digit.txt.

    And you should ofcourse add the following line to the MASTER section of sioc.ini, (with for yy the real device index)

    Code:
    MASTER=8,9,1,yy
    Groetjes,
    Nico

    Hi Nico,
    You are really an extraordinary helpful guy.... THANK YOU
    I will test the script as soon as I am in position to do that; have to go to the doctor with my ill cat.

    My NAV module has ID 15 ... but I will change it according your suggestion

    MASTER=5,8,1,83
    MASTER=3,11,1,88
    MASTER=2,15,1,111
    MASTER=1,7,1,119
    MASTER=15,9,1,127

    Yes, change it to:

    The 8 should correspond with the Device 8 statements in my script, and since you are not using Device 8 already, it is no problem to change it.

    Re: ILS module on Pedestal

    OK Nico, great stuff… it’s working ... but not yet 100%

    ILS frequency

    Outer (big ) knob
    When rotating knob Clockwise frequency value decreases.
    When rotating knob Anti-Clockwise frequency value increases.

    Inner (small) knob
    Value behind the decimal point increases /decreases correctly.

    CRS values
    I can rotate inner (small) selection knob up to value 59
    I can rotate outer (big) selection knob from value 1 to 3

    The problem now is that I cannot select CRS 160/260 and higher since the inner selection knob has a range 0-59.

    Test button
    Pressing the Test button once lights all 7 segment displays
    Pressing the Test button second time returns to previously set values of ILS frequency and CRS value.

    Question.
    Is it possible to display a “.” (dot) or other character on the first or second display segment of the CRS display which will indicate that the CRS selector is active. In this case I will know that I have to press TFR button once again to dial the frequency.

    It is just a suggestion from my point of view as a user, but it can sound ridiculous to you.

    As I said... Nico, jij bent een kanjer.
    Gr, Mladen
