Which Aircraft is your home cockpit based on?

We are back with this weeks edition of MyCockpit Poll. Last weeks poll results on Cockpit software was well participated and also threw an interesting leader 'Others'. Which means obviously people use other softwares such as Level D, etc.

This week our question is on the aircraft type on which your home cockpit is based on.

Looking forward to your active participation.

    Republic F-84F 51-9345 ofcourse.

The poll seems rather bias to Boeing, Airbus and GA. There are plenty of warbird builds too. Bunch of F-16 builders around.

Well, since we are very early into the polls just 4 votes, I have created Military as an option.

    Thanks for the suggestion

would be interested to know what influenced the decision of the builders to select a specific type. Especially, if there are thoughts about the different flight deck technological philosophies, e.g. the seemingly larger computer guidance in the Airbus versus Boeing.

For mine, it was all about what I could find as a fighter that had a complete cockpit and wasn't ungodly expensive. After years of "window shopping" I ran into my F-84F in a Barnstormers listing. F-84F would definitely not be my first choice, but it was there at the right price at the right time.

Re: Which Aircraft is your home cockpit based on?

I was surprised to see A330 on the list but not a B777. I know from our polls before on this there are quite a few 777 builders like myself. Not sure how many A330's there are.

    I checked Other

The reason I chose the 717 first because of the glass cockpit design. However panel and software development for it was not really going to happen. Changed to the 777 because of the simple design and all glass cockpit. I didn't want to build the 737 since so many others are building. I did consider the A320. I like the cockpit design but I am used to flying helicopters so I wanted to stay away from a joystick.

Also room limitations for the project was another consideration. I can do the 777 easier than the joystick to the side. Cockpit width is my issue. On the 777 I don't plan on going with the detail width that may would want just the MIP width.

    Hi Adino

Dont worry, we are represented here in the poll as GA. Non commercial (private/bussiness) aircraft are listed as General Aviation. At least that's how it's listed in the USA. It may be different elsewhere though.

    ...and, I voted too!
