    WIN 7 pre beta

It appears that WIN 7 is in an advanced state of development!

Perhaps some in the US may be going to WinHec 2008 and will have the opportunity of picking up and experimenting with the WIN 7 pre beta version.

    http://www.microsoft.com/WHDC/WinHEC/default.aspx

I hope to have my own copy as and when available.

It might be helpful to many contemplating a move to VISTA to wait and see what WIN 7 will deliver that is of benefit to FSX users!

Get the Windows 7 Pre-Beta Build at WinHEC 2008!

Be one of the first to see what's new in Windows 7 and be among a select few to receive a pre-beta build of Windows 7. Join us as WinHEC 2008 – Register today.

WinHEC is the only chance for you to engage with the team at this level – there is not another WinHEC planned before Windows 7 is released.

LOL. Win 7 is probably XP with a new name, and a few added features .

Vista flopped so bad, I am sure that they want to get back on track.

It would be nice to have a look at it for sure.

Well, I for one hope its only a 64 bit system. We have had the capability to migrate for years and have'nt done it for what amount to selfish reasons. Besides, They will never start work on a 128 bit OS until the 64 is fully adopted.

    Trev,
More likely it will be Vista with a new interface and some repair work.

    like im ten years old

Please treat me like im ten years old so that I can understand this.

Xp to me was great and still is a great operating system, and vista all it did for me was give me aero and a new look with a whole lot of extra junk in the trunk so to speak that was not needed.

It was over loaded with stuff that as a user I see no advantage in using.

Xp did not overpower but was a nice operating system that did what is was suppose to do.

I don’t need an operating system with all those bells and whistles; I should be able to load those extras at my conveyance.

Of course we need to stay up to date, but Microsoft seems to want to pack it with so much stuff that no one user can hope to take advantage of it all.

Most big companies don’t want to upgrade without the expense of upgrading there hardware also.

So im for an operating system that will do the basics real well and I can get the extra if I need it.

So im all for a revamp of XP 64 pro or a lighter version of Vista

    Just my stupid opinion

    Robert,

No need to treat you like a kid. You have a good handle on it already.

The only thing Vista does that is a posative move is it's the first Windows OS that x64 drivers are widely available for. XP x64 still has bad driver support. I tried XP x64 briefly until I realized I couldn't use my iphone/itunes with it.

    Windows 7

WIN 7 is not a revamped version of XP which can only be good news!

I have just been sent the following by Microsoft and am passing it on for information!

    http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...PDCDay2PR.mspx

The links are interesting for those who wish to investigate in more depth.

I think vista was the beta version for the next windows but they didnt tell us that!!!!

Exactly the same with windows2000pro which although was its own product like vista was in fact microsoft's secret beta version for XP which is still the best OS
