    Friday night flight

    Hi Guys,
I'm planning on doing the following two flights on the FSHost tonight (Friday) if anyone's around. I'm planning to connect at LOWI around 8pm EST but should be on TS before this. The approaches into both LOWI and LSGS are pretty challenging and would definately require some studying of the charts beforehand. If you're going to try it, I'd recommend strongly downloading one of the freeware Alps mesh's from Avsim. Both airports are surrounded by high mountains.

    Cheers,
    Greg

Hi guys. Great flight last night.

I posted about four shots that I took of our flight last night. Wish I had the aircraft that you were actually flying in my "hangar" so that it would display you each correctly. Can you please give me a list of what sim model and paints you are flying? Thanks.

    Here's the shots:

Hi John. Last nights flight was a lot of fun! Wish I would have saved the flight plans in the CDU. I will do that today before I forget what we did. I am also going to see about getting my mesh terrain back today. Man those pics are nice!

    Bob,

Yeah...... that was a great pair of flights. I have to fly in Europe more , I guess.

I was REALLY ticked when the "Flight Simulator has experienced a problem......." message happened just as I was turning to final at LOWI!!!! I was really happy with making the approach up to that point,...... especially as I was hand flying the profile; never had a chance to set up a flight plan for that flight because I thought by the time I got online you folks would have been at LOWI already and ready for the second hop.

I'll have to re-fly it sometime.

Thanks for the feedback on the pictures. You should see them in the 2.5 Meg apiece original capture format. I reduce size and compress stuff for upload.... saves server space and bandwidth.

In the pix, that is the finest resolution FSGenesis mesh for the Alps for fs2004. Stock European landclass and textures. As I said last night.... the FSGenesis website keeps your "account" forever. You just have to log back on and go to your downloads page. That is an INCREDIBLE service they have ..... and I always recommend them highly to people for not only the quality of the actual products, but also that kind of customer service. I HATE sites that give you some short period before your download link is gone forever.

I'll likely be getting online to fly again tonight. Hope to maybe see you there. I am going to try yet ANOTHER thing to see if I can get AIBridge to work for me. The issue is driving me NUTS.....particularly when I see others with it connceted just fine. That tells me it HAS to be something on my end.

    John,
This may not be any help but this is the port forwarding I've got setup. AIBridge is connecting ok for me.

FSHost - UDP Any -> 23456 (To FS9 PC IP)

FSNav - UDP Any -> 23432 (To FS9 PC IP)
UDP Any -> 6073 (To FS9 PC IP)

AIBridge- TCP Any -> 47624 (To AiBridge PC IP)
UDP Any -> 2300-2400 (To AiBridge PC IP)
UDP Any -> 47624 (To AiBridge PC IP)

    Greg,

    Thanks.

The only one that I DON'T have set up that way is 2300-2400. As I understand it from reading FSHost's pages, those ports are the "alternate DirectX ports" that are ONLY used when the primary ports (like 23456) are not available foer some reason. BUT.... 23456 IS available on this server...and those ports are open on my machine. So I don't get it.

I'll go do some more tweeking and open those and see what happens.

It is all a bunch of illogical smoke and mirrors and mumbo jumbo anyway!

    Maybe see you tonight.

    best,
