    Hi Peter,

    Ive wired all switches of my 737NG OVH as per pmSystems.

    Landing Lighs :
    Retractable L & R : No reaction;
    Fixed : OK, but no difference whether I switch L or R;

    Runway Tunoff L&R: No reaction;
    Taxi Light : OK

    Logo Light : No reaction;
    Position Strobe/steady/standby : only works when Logo Lights=on;
    Anti Collision : Ok;
    Wing : OK;
    WheelWell : No reaction.

    It looks as though FS9 does not accept / does not know all these settings.

    Kind regards

    Which aircraft are you using? Some of those lights are AC specific!

    Ok the PMDG you may not have access to all those lights. They use proprietary offsets on a lot of stuff like that. Might be the problem. You may want to try loading the default panel with it and see what lights work from that panel. If you get them to work that way, use the FS offsets to turn them on and off.

    Bob, or anyone, any chance you could remove some of the mystery of "offsets" for me. I read so much here about PM and offsets and it's all over my head! I can replicate any mechanical component I see but I know nothing of programming stuff. I might one day have the need to convert to PM, but I'm very reluctant to alter the simplicity of my current set-up. Not understanding the PC terminology and reading everybody elses difficulties with PM puts me off even more. I'm hoping the new FDT software is a good thing, can't wait to see it.

    Hey Gwyn. You are making offsets something they are not. You are already using them! An offset is nothing more then a number assigned to a object to let you manipulate it. Example Landing Gear. It has an offset, one for up and one for down! Landing gear annunciators, one for on and one for off... Does that help at all? There is a list of them for FS in Peter Dowsons docs for FSUIPC.

    Gwyn,

    Think of an offset as being like a cell phone number, that an application external to FS, such as pmSystems, uses to "talk" with FS:

    pmSystems: [dials offset for Nose Gear - 0-B-E-C]

    FS: "You have reached the Nose Gear hot line, use your touch tone keys to set the nose gear position. To raise gear press 0. To lower gear press 1-6-3-8-3".

    pmsystems: [presses 0]

    FS: "The nose gear has been raised, have a good day".

    Is also useful to think of Peter Dowson's documentation as a telephone directory. FS Yellow Pages .

    Regards,
    Alan.
