CDU Nav Data deselect area doesn't work

I'm tying to deselect areas in the nav data I never fly in such as Sth
America and Pacific. The Nav Data option on the Index page has a Areas
Select option that displays the 6 areas and currently they're all active.

I would have thought that pressing the button against an entry would
deselect it but it doesn't. I just see Inop displayed.

Does anyone know if this is meant to work and if so - how?

I'm using build 372 of the CDU.

    Hi Ray,

I use the NavExtract with the screen shown on PM's NavData page and it works

    great.

I have not tried ( I didn't even know it was possible ) to use any buttons
    on the CDU.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Thanks Bill. I've downloaded and run NavExtract. I don't understand the
point of the buttons on the CDU because even after deselecting Sth America
in NavExtract that area still shows as Active in the CDU.

Perhaps another thing that Enrico has to implement when he has the time.

    Cheers.

Re: CDU Nav Data deselect area doesn't work

    Hi Enrico,

I don't think this feature is working as you describe. Having used
NavExtract to deselect Sth America I restarted the CDU and the Areas Select

screen still shows Sth America as active. It's not a major issue - I just
wanted you to be aware of how it's working.

    Cheers.

So it is merely the display that isn't active/working?
