    A320 FMGS System Requirements

    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can advise whether E8400 Core 2 Duo's @ 3.0Ghz is enough processing power for a networked system?

The main Jeehell PC is an i7, 16GB RAM, GTX 670's in SLI, 1TB SSD.

The others (E8400) would be networked for MCDU's, Overhead, Captains Instrument, FO instrument etc...

If not what are the minimum requirements?

    Cheers

    Sam

    Re: A320 FMGS System Requirements

The biggest CPU hungry modules are the FMGS server and the ND/PFD. Estimate 5-15% CPU for each on a i5 CPU. Running all 5 of them (both side PFD/ND+FMGS) will take away one third to half your CPU, meaning you could fit all JH suite on most 2core descent CPUs. Any basic add-on video card will do the rendering job easily for all the displays with plenty of overhead - though not quite so for the CPU embedded ones.

Each of the above is also quite memory hungry, they can easily reach 800MB for FMGS server and the NDs, less for PFDs, so 4Gb would suffice on a standalone computer with a safe enough margin.
