    Re: Sound Issue

Don't forget FSX has a bug in it. There is a avionics sound that cannot be turned off (still trying to work out how to silence it), even when the a/c is in cold & dark

    Re: Sound Issue

thanks for your additional advise. Now I believe, I am getting closer to the root of the problem!

I played around with the aircraft.cfg and changed the title in order to find out, which aircraft FSX is loading. In indeed, FSX is not loading the new version from F:/A320FMGS/... , but still loading the former version from FSX/simobjects/aircrafts/A320FMGS...

Within the FSX aircrafts selection window I couldn't find the option to add a new plane. How can I tell FSX to load the Airbus from the new installation folder? I hope, I do not have to delete and reinstall everything!

Thanks so much for your patience!!

    Re: Sound Issue

With FSX aircraft must reside in the FSX\simobjects\aircraft directory.

Only with P3D can aircraft files reside in a different folder.

Make sure your sound files are in your FSX\Simobject\aircraft\A320FMGS aircraft folder.

    Re: Sound Issue

    I GOT IT!!!

Don't ask me how. Didn't change anything on the sounds, really. Just tried the whole start up procedure once more. And suddenly I heard the engine sound as it should be. Even after some additional runs.

Now, what is still unclear to me is, why I have two installation folders
    - F:/Fsx/simobjects...
    - F:/A320fmgs/...
    Do I need both?

    Thanks for your support!

    Re: Sound Issue

    Hi Ben, Michael,

Just want to let you know I have the same problem (again). I had it on P3D v2 but finally fixed it. Now I'm on P3Dv3.1 and the CFM pack (downloaded from your site Ben) is in the /A320FGMS/Aircraft/A320...../sounds folder (as I beleive it should be). But no sounds.

Michael, thanks for the tip about the avionics sound that's been bugging the **** out of me, now I can turn it off I can clearly hear there are no engine sounds.

So if you have any idea what you did to make it work, I'd love to know

    Cheers
    Edward

    Re: Sound Issue

    Hi Ben,

for engines, I use the standard sounds of FSX. So within FSX/Options/Sound I turned it up to 100%. Don't forget to have the "Active" box checked! Together with the reduced avionics sound and turning up the loud speaker (hardware) a bit, this now gives me a good sound mix.

Dont' know, if this applies to P3D as well?!

    cheers,
    Michael

    Re: Sound Issue

Hi well I sorted my sound problem in the same way you fixed yours. It just started working for no apparent reason....

What I did do was reinstall JH with the sound files in place and upgraded P3D to latest version but I did the latter first and still had no engines, so I'm leaning towards putting the sound files in place and installing JH as the fix

    Re: Sound Issue

Have the same problem. All Sounds are in P3D disabled and the Air Condition sound in FMGS is lowered. Changeing the value the AC sound is being also changed. But after powering on the aircraft provied by external power, a noising sound is played. No APU is running and so no air is bleeding. When I close FMGS's "Sound.exe" the sound is quiete. Starting "Sound.exe" the sound comes up. In the options there is no slider for this sound or a item for identificate it.

    What can I do?

    best regards Frank
