The simconnect API does not allow for a proper radar, there is a bug in their system (since FSX) and it has never been corrected so far. Without "hacking" it's not possible to get the clouds/precipitation position accurately (I did my research and trials myself, it's truly not possible with the normal way, and the hacking way is really tough).

Yes, I believe the only way to have accurate weather (precipitation) will be to interface directly with the weather program. PMDG held off developing one for their aircrafts until the ASN API was released.

I hope the weather radar will be on the agenda someday

I have ASN. But for some reason (I will describe this soon) I would like to use the "OpusFX" weather engine.
Weather radar should operate independently from the weather engine. Currently, only the ASN provides an API for weather radar. It is their great advantage ...
But there are many engines weather. You can not limit FMGS only to the ASN.

But the weather radar is far away... Now I'm waiting for reviews of B34

Hi ToTom, I actually have OPUS (I like the built in dynamic head motion) -- I don't have ASN. However, it seems to be the only weather program that can realize an accurate weather radar. I will intend to purchase ASN as more developers begin to support the API.

Back to testing the newest update

    Hi Jl and Guys,
first: A big thank you for your new update and hard working! It“s so awesome what you do!
Also thanks Tom for your Files for Topcat!
I got a small issue with the sound.
I didn“t hear the engines working or something like a rolling sound or flaps movment. I hear only the sounds for signs, mm, hydraulic (when you start the engines)
I look in to the soundfoulder from the jeehell Aircraft in the FSX/simobjects but there are no soundfiles. O.o Is this normaly?
I had made a fresh installation from your software.
Any idea how can i fix this?

    King Regards
    Florian

P.S.: Some time ago i didn“t hear the "reatard, retard" Callouts, too?!?! :O

florian the flight model fmgs install has NO sound files for the aircraft u have to provide your own sounds...to be more precise it uses (aliases) the default fsx 320 sounds
    cheers

    Re: A320 FMGS B34

    Tonight I flew LOWW-EKCH:
Takeoff rwy 29 and then up to FL340.
    A couple of issues:
    - The MCDU shows wrong prediction times to the waypoints and destination. It is showing time enroute from origin rather than ETA at the various waypoints.
-The MCDU did not seem to switch to CRZ mode but stayed in CLIMB mode
    - Although less the thrust is still balloning between commanded N1% of 55-89. The actual thrust does not reduce to less than N1 74% as the commanded is already increased again
    - The rapid flashing beacon now completely disapeared, as did the Nose light
    Cheers Stephen
