    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    jaystar,
we have to distinguish between sounds:
some sounds are linked with the aircraft model (engines, wind, touchdown, ground roll...etc) and are managed from the sound.cfg file in the sound folder of the specific aircraft (FS). unfortunately the apu sound is not present/managed in the sound.cfg and is usually managed from outside of the model itself.
fmgs suite managed the aural warning and sounds from the cockpit itself.
if u want a deeper explanation about how to edit the sound.cfg i wrote a thread about this in the prosim forum at the time i had a 737 cockpit.
hope this makes sense to u
    cheers
    filippo

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

that said and to add something: u can use any 320 soundset as long as it copy sound files and the sound.cfg to the sound folder of the JL aircraft, mostly all the soundsets available do this.
u can't add the apu sound this way.
    regards
    fil

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

hello again. So far so good.Got my soundpacks setup although its a shame we cant link up an APU sound to the button!!
One little problem I'm having and not sure if it's just my ignorance when it comes to programming the mcdu but having entered a whole flightplan and entered the performance data etc, as soon as I'm off the ground the FCU unit only allows me to fly manually!!! I push the heading button in for it to follow the flightplan but it wont change!!! Also, the speed button remains in manual mode, I really dont know why this is??? Any ideas?

    Cheers again,

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

If you cannot engage managed modes check:
    - you completed the MCDU (pages INIT A&B, PERF, FPLN)
    - you actually engaged Take off mode (THR LVRs at TOGA or FLX with a FLX tmp in PERF page)

    Cheers,
    JL

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi JL,

it looks I am having a problem with the EFIS on FO side: If I am flying e.g. in the US in barometric "in Hg" mode (e.g. baro showing 29.92), going over transition altitude of 18000ft, then pulling the baro button to get to STD - everything is fine until then. When I descent below TA again, I would press the baro button again, but in this case, the display is showing a wrong number (very very small number) - and it takes minutes to scroll up again to the right value. I think there could be a bug

And another question on barometer: How can I enter the Hg baro value (e.g. 29.92) on the PERF page of MCDU? It always says "not allowed"

    Thanks
    Stefan

    Re: A320 FMGS beta 30

    Hi Stefan,

I'll have a look at the BARO from STD to inHg.

As for the PERF page, I'll have a look at how it works on the real ACFT, not sure yet if it can accept both units.

    Regards,
    JL

    Hi JH,
just to know if in the next version, you plan to make the needles of the DDRMI alive under fsx ? I would love to see them moving.
    thanks,
    Pierre
