Simplify IFR using GPS
For a quick simplified flight, I input my flight plan in FSX with IFR low altitude airways (Beech Baron), and fly the route with VoxAtc as my ATC. I will be vectored to the approach runway and then set my nav radios for the ILS.
Simple and accurate. Albeit real world would not just rely on GPS.

Re: Simplify IFR using GPS
Real world aviation, I have over 2200+ hours, and the majority of it is with VOR's not GPS. My last company had the bare basics and it was a single pilot IFR part 135 job. I dare say, the real world is cheap and uses 30+ year old navigation equipment.

Re: Simplify IFR using GPS
Too true!
Something to be said for "Old school" training...
A working combination of both generations is practical and necessary indeed.
