1st Attempt at Living Room Simulator

    Hi Ya'll -

I'm not near the point of any of you excellent cockpit builders, but I finished up my "living room" simulator last night and thought i would share a picture. I have a small studio and don't have space to commit to a desk or cockpit set-up at the moment, so wanted to take advantage of the 52" high-end TV i have in my living area. I'll work my way up to something more elaborate when i have more space, but could definately use some more switches and a wireless headset to make things more realistic.

    Equipment:

    Custom-Built computer
-AMD Phenom II BE 3.4gh x4
    -4gb 1300 DDR3 Mem
    -GEforce 240

    Visuals
    -Sony XBR 52" TV
    -TrackIR 5 System

    Controls
    Saitek Pro Yoke + Throttle
    CH Pro Pedals
    Saitek Radio and Switch Panel

    Seating
X-Rocker Pro Pedestal gaming chair (the vibrations and surround sound are amazing)
    SpeedBlack Control Holder

Flying is a way of living, isn't it.

    Nice set up.

All essential elements of cockpit building there: yoke, rudders, controls, great outside visuals, a comfortable pilot seat. I sometimes wish I had a (second) setup like this, because you´re free choosing your aircraft. Bush-flying in a Cessna over Alaska, or VFR-riding on top of some mountains at sightseeing speed is ridiculous when I am sitting in a closed 737 shell, hehe.

Enjoy your plane, it´s sure fun flying it.

Nice setup. Do you know what it's missing though...a can of beer at your side. One of the many advantages of flight simming! Many times my circuits have been getting progressively worse throughout the night after sinking half a bottle of wine!

    Love that 52" TV.

    Cheers
