    737 Painting Material

the hard part now .. as i decided again to check the painting material cause one of my frinds got the FMC Kit and the MCP v2 P&P from open kockpits and i saw that kind of fine paint material ..
i went home yesteday @ 1 am as i went to a frind work shop and we started to descuss the material ..

the base was clear plexiglass 5mm and it's coated by a mterial really till now it's confusing me..
    what i did.
i got that matt dark gray for the car paint .. but both trails was not that good to me .. as i used normal air compressor for the car paint with 2 deffrint thechnics both was not good
i'll gona use 3mm of clear plexi and 2mm of white opal above it so the cutting will gona be for both
    the steps for doing it

    after 2 houres of discotions
    1st option ..
to tack the same car paint and go to a car paint shop and use the oven .. it's like a room with high degree of temprture to make the paint smooth .. u all already know.

    2nd option i've
some one said that electro static paint .. so i replied with (plexi and 100C) how can??

3rd option i've is silk screen print it's for very very smooth face with that matt finishing.

    -------------
-paint the white opal (what ever the option listed up) i need help.
-engraving for the painted white opal.
    -liser cutting for both plexi.

this is my last configration to do the panels

guys if u have better idea how to paint or any comment please let me know i nreally need youe help ..

    Re: 737 Painting Material

    Hello,
I have made my own panels out pf plexi and I painted them with gray primer from Home Depot. I have been in two different 737 sims and my primered panels are as close as anything out there. What I did was to paint the panel 2 coats of black "plasic" paint (for lawn furniture I think) then 2 coats of gray primer. The quality of the spray and the clean paint make for a real good finish. Then the trick is to wipe or buff the surface after the paint dries for a day or two. You can rub off the powdery surface that you get when using primer, then the panel has that satin finish just like the real thing. try it on a scrap and you will see that I mean.I use a dry paper towel or old cotton tee shirt for the buffing.
