Re: My hybrid cockpit build
thats a real nice setup, fine logic woodwork,
the dimensions feel real good.
I'm looking forward to your progress. When once you have tasted flight,
you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward

Re: My hybrid cockpit build
Great looking work so far Kurby. Did you develop a template to cut the parts, if so how did you manage to do this with Sketchup? I've played with Sketchup a bit and never did see a way to use it for anything other than working out accurate measurments. Would you be interested in sharing your Sketchup model file?

Re: My hybrid cockpit build
Shure, i can share my approach to using sketchup.
Here is my first version based on pictures of Ron Rollo's shell design for the lear 45 that i adapted because of space constraints:
Here is the final adapted version rendered:
After that i made templates of all the pieces, arranged them to determine how much MDF boards i would require and printed in 1:1 on A2 paper sheets, joined the different pages to create the master templates then just traced them on the mdf sheets:
My model is not finished yet, i haven't decided on what embraer model to use or if i will go the 737 way €€€€€€ so the interior is still not developed and have to make a small radius correction to spar number 18.
I can share the pdf file i used to print, with all the pieces in 1:1 scale.

Super project and i'm amazed at your drawing skills, how i wished something like this was available for the 737, i would gladly pay money for a template to trace around.

Here is just a small update on the build, don't have much time but managed to construct the base and start on the side cross members:
