    FSX Locking up

    Hi

I have FSX running on a Quad core, Win 7, 4 Gb ram 1Tb hdd and GTS250 graphics card. (Win is 32 Bit as Matrox tH2go has no 64 bit drivers). FSX keeps hanging mid-flight for no apparent reason.

    Anyone experienced this please?

    Ta
    Richard

    Re: FSX Locking up

    Ok -spec as follows:

FSX PC - Quad core, 4Gb ram, Nvidia GTS250 512Mb PCI-e Graphics, 2 x 500Gb hdd, running FSX and FSXpand, IVAP. VRi drivers, VFR Scenery Nth England/wales. Matrox Th2go LDS 767

    FSClient PC - Dual core, 500Gb hdd, Nvidia gt8600 512Mb PCI-eGraphics, 4Gb ram, Matrox TH2Go

FSMap PC - Dual Core, 500Gb Hdd, Nvidia gt5500 256Mb PCI-e graphics, 4Gb ram. Running FSMap, Dolomynum, FSBuild

All three PC's on a Gigabit network,

System was stable, but currently uninstalled FSX and rebooted to try a clean install again. The crash is in FSX.exe and seems to happen about every twenty minutes or so. I thought it was scenery as I tried a flight EGPH - EGBB three times and it crashed out in almost the same place, but the last flight I was actaully sat at the gate whilst chatting to ATC in IVAO and it hung, so ............????????

    Hope his helps?

    Regards and thank you
    Richard

    Re: FSX Locking up

Just in case anyone has been experiencing the problems I had, I have now found what the cause was. It was down to data leakage in one of the ram chips. After using a deep ram test software package, it highlighted this. After fitting new ram from Crucial, I now have 27fps with everything full on, as opposed to 6-7fps before.

    Hope this helps someone!

    Re: FSX Locking up

Is it just FSX hanging or the whole pc is locking up ?

Have you checked temp. of the PC and the GPU ?
