    Another MUST SEE!!! (Simulator)

    Guys, this thing is awsome.
Im not a big fan of helicopters, but this is very cool.
If you skip forward to 3 minutes 15 seconds and watch from there.
Also if you want to watch from the start there some more cool stuff.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4KZRQjCMOA

    Must be quite expensive though.
    Regards,
    Jake.

speaking of nice toys, I'd like to have this one:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAlXuqKfN-o

The Desdemona sim, built by TNO in the netherlands. (video unfortunately in dutch. check from minute 1:00 )

It can go up, down, sideways, move and spin freely on all axis and add centrifugal force. It can simulate sustained g-forces up to 3 g continuously. Something thats impossible with a normal hexapod.

Its the only one in the world....

now what was that with my bankaccount ? ...sigh.....

The dutch airforce is actually using desdemona for F16 pilot training, although desdemona is originally a research project (TNO is the dutch research organisation).

desdemona in tis project stands for DESorientation DEMONstrator.

I think i could get pretty desorientated in that beast

    some more information:

The Desdemona cabin with modular layout is mounted on a fully gimbaled system that is able to rotate around any conceivable axis. The system as a whole allows 2 metres of vertical movement, combined with 8 metres along a horizontal sledge. The sledge itself is able to spin as well. Centrifugation enables Desdemona to generate constant G-forces up to a maximum of 3 G.

    interesting pdf here: http://www.tno.nl/downloads/veilig_t...S080014_EN.pdf
