    Wireing Diagram

I'm new to home cocpit building. I recently purchased the 737ng M.I.P. from Poldragonet. The product came in good shape and I am happy, however NO diagram or instructions on how to wire the LEDS, and SWITCHES came in the shipment. Can someone advise me on the sim cards I will need, and how to wire the panel? I also have the landing gear handle, and have one sim-card (servo) from Opencockpits, and would any help on getting it hooked up properly, i.e. LEDS, and reconizing gear in transition and gear up. Thanks for any help you can give me. My email is douglasc41@yahoo.com.

Well, you're going to need input and output cards to get all of that working.

There are several brands available. If you like writing code you could stay with the OC cards.

There's also Phidgets, FDS, FDT, Leo Bodnar's cards, Hagstrom Engineering, etc, etc. All have been used by builders here. All have advantages and disadvantages.

Get yourself a paid copy of FSUIPC too if you haven't already.

Check around on the interfacing and computer set-up forum for what folks are using and how.

I was using the cockpitsonic breakout board as I bought it with the landing gear handle from a gentleman on this site, if it's basic functions you want then this would be fine, I recently purchased the CPFlight MIP board and have to admit I totally love it, it's well worth the money but you generally need to have CPflight MCP to run it off or buy a separate piece of hardware which would make it more expensive.

There are plenty of options out there but I hope you appreciate my own experiences.

    regards,

    David.

Basic functions are fine by me. Right now my main concern is getting the landing gear handle and leds for gear to work. The rest I'll work on as time goes on. It's my first experience into home cockpit building so some terms are new to me. Thanks for all yoour help. Dave

    Dave,

Each company has different cards.. What I would suggest for you to learn a little bit, is use LEO BODNARS X36 card for "INPUTS" this will get your buttons and switches working. It is seen by Windows as a joystick when you plug it in and then you can program the switches through FSUIPC do do what you want them to do.

As for the outputs.... Thats another story all together. Led's can connect to your sim in many ways.. I personally suggest you get your self 1 Phidgets LED64 card... this will let you connect 64 led's to the card, and you can program their functions using free phidgets software.

That will not cost you a lot of money but will let you get some visual progress.

    Best regards,

    Trev
