    New Builds News

    Hi

In an effort to try and keep people more informed (I have been told that customers don't always understand what is included in major updates or we don't get the information across from the changes.txt) this time I made a summary list from our development work as Enrico and I worked through certain things. Updates for both Boeing and Airbus. This may not meet everyones needs / lists (there is a long list of expectations) the update reflect specific requirements as much as anything else for Boeing. For Airbus the process is currently on-going. Beta builds are starting to be made avialable. A lot of flight testing has already been done showing good results. Final releases will be made soon for those not wishing to run betas.

    The Boeing update covers:

•TOGA mode logic improvements for take-off
•GA Logic changed / corrected flap / manoeuvring speed computations corrected
•Second GA mode added (press TOGA a second time to get more PWR [if required])
•Flap 10 indication corrected (for approach flap) 737
    •N1 / TOGA / CLB indications changed / FMA / EICAS
•CDU fixed 1500ft default Thrust Reduction altitude (737)
    •SEL TEMP & TO1 / 2 & CLB1 & 2 de-rates corrected & checked
•CDU runway first waypoint computation corrected (part of SID or pilot entry or pilot manual entry)
•Major changes to improve CDU / Magenta line route handling / drawing and computation - should be another step to provide you with more graphically correct computations.
•ENG OUT Perf page started (not complete) place holder
•N1 page changed to reflect more 737 type specific indication (changed from the 747 'look') be aware of slight operational use difference as well.
•LVL Change logic made less aggressive, this is very flight model specific but it should help to improve altitude captures making them smoother when approaching target and in acquire mode.
•FD in vertical mode, changes to handling, makes more 'positive' commands to pilot for corrective action.
•FD in Roll mode, improves commands, making the FD easier to follow, especially in heading / roll-outs. Extra dampening added for the rollout onto headings, this means less aggressive roll out required by pilot. Should improve FD performance in manual flight. (Results may vary depending on Flight model).
•GC changed to be able to use the new separate flight control FSUIPC offset for those with tiller steering, this enables the facility to make the pre-flight full deflection rudder check, before this was not possible *if* a tiller was in use due to the ground speed mixing facilities.
•pmSystems improvements in speed of variable handling made

Please note we can't always provide lists like this, only when we go through a major update I think, not the smaller corrections. The smaller corrections the best source is the changes.txt file.
