    Angry OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    I am having a hard time getting my Open Cockpit MCP working. I am using the Project Majenta configuration file. It shows that it is compiled OK. Flight Simulator is running on Vista 64. SIOC is running on a XP machine along with project Magenta CDU and MCP Software. The Project Magenta Class Cockpit software is also running. Wide client and FSUIPC 4.3 is running and showing it is connected on all machines. The MCP display is dead. I have ran the test program on the MCP and everything works fine. The MCP Device shows up in SIOC as
    IDX=IOCARD MCP Device 64
    But the status shows stopped. I have reloaded the configuration file several times. What am I doing wrong. Thank You Dennis

    SIOC Version 5.2

    IOCARD DEVICE 2.3
    STATUS STOPPED
    FSUIPC STATUS OK
    FSUIPC VERSION 4.3
    SIMULATOR FSX

    Re: OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    Dennis,

    I've got two USBservo cards from opencockpits. I experience the same problem you described quite a while ago already (October 2008 ). I hope that you someway or another found a way to solve this because I cannot find a solution, also not after extensive search on the internet.

    I got two USB servocards:
    IDX = 1 -IOCard-USBServos - Device =13
    IDX = 1 -IOCard-USBServos - Device =7

    I receive the message: IOCard device ver: 3.0
    Status Stopped.

    FSUIPC (4.530) is OK. I've tested both USBServo cards also OK. FSX is OK. But the outcome is still not OK.

    I tried everything and as far as I check, everything in the right way and therefore..... it drives me crazy.

    Hope you or someone else can help me out.
    Thanks in advance and best regards from freezing Heemskerk
    Hans

    Re: OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    Hi Hanss, Tugo & Aviatorden,

    the easiest way to get answers in case of trouble with Opencockpit products is to become member of the Spanish Yahoo user group:

    "construccion_cabinas"

    You will get an answer within minuts.

    Re: OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    Becoming a member of the spanish yahoo group would be great, but i don't speak spanish.. I've had nothing but trouble with configuring my oc mcp and efis. If you read in another forum, i've tried numerous solutions with no real luck. Last night i took off got to 8,000 ft and my engines just quit after engaging my mcp.. that was bad I think the only people that have luck with the oc parts, have only one unit or know how to program them.. They are beautifully built i just wish they performed as well or had personal support so we could solve our issues and help others.

    FSX-3 networked computers
    Lastest FSUIPC-OK
    IOCP networked-Says it's ok but in SIOC-say's disconnected.
    open cocpits- MCP and EFIS
    Project magenta-glass cockpit display only
    SIOC-latest version

    They can talk in English.
    I have a the OC MCP, 2 Efis, 2 Nav radios and the CDU. It all works fine here.

    There are severall scripts you can download on their site as well. Even a script for PM users. I use Fight Deck Software

    Re: OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    To be clear: sioc must run on the computer at wich the MCP is connect !!
    The same goes for the other OC parts. You cannot connect the MCP at PC 1 and run Sioc on PC 2.

    Re: OpenCockpit MCP Configuration

    thanx, sioc is running on the same computer as all my oc units, i gave up on the efis and went back to the autosetup of the fsuipc fsx module, it seems to work again. Maybe someday soon, ill try to be adventureous again and try to get the efis working.
