Hey John Combs! O2 panel all fixed up

Thanks for the quick shipping for my panels. And thanks a bunch for the hose. That'll go right over to the O2 regulator panel. Man, now all I need is a tank!

I removed the important one and stripped it, sanded, and repainted it. I cleaned and polished all of the connectors and the chains, fixed the alignment of the hose door, and straightened the panel.

    Looks like new!

    As-removed needed some TLC:

    Getting some TLC:

A new panel to add to the 727:

Sorry the photos are a little hard on the eyes.

    THis one is marginally better:

    Oh My Gosh

    Michael,

That panel looks amazing! Oh My Gosh! Too think that panel carried a Black Widow Spider from Arizona to Wisconsin, in late November and over two years ago, and then sat in a box all that time. And now you make it something new.

Your work is just unreal; makes me wish I would've kept it. However, I know I'm doing a B737 and not the B727, so I'm okay with it...well, okay with not doing a 727, but not with the work your doing, you make me so jealous. You're very talented.

Are you sure you don't want what I have left for the B727? Or maybe, you should TLC them and then we sell them together.. lol.

Speaking of TLC, that panel, as well as the rest of the cockpit was a part of TV show called "While You Were Out" on TLC about 4 or 5 years ago. A Jet Blue Pilot's wife wanted to set up a stranded and marooned pilot in tropical setting in their backyard.

She had this TV show come in and help set it all up. They got the B727 cockpit from a boneyard in Arizona and then had to lift it over a 6 foot fence by hand to get it in the yard. I have a copy of the show on CD somewhere. Maybe, I can post it in MC.org for all to get a good laugh...

Thanks again for making me feel bad... no, no, just kidding. Thanks again for buying the panel from me.

    John

Thanks John for the kind words.

Panels without lightplates are a lot easier to get to looking new than a panel with a crappy looking lightplate.

If you still have the left eyebrow trim, let me know a price. I don't think it will fit my build, but it might be close enough that I can get it to fit without too much re-work of the framework or modification to the trim.

I might be wasting my money, but I really have to know how close this is to spec. If it's very close, I may be wasting a lot of time and energy trying to build my own trim.

Because the Razer VM3 doesn't do close-ups very well. 1.3MP is all it is.

Well I swear, if it wasn't for being able to see the panelling on the wall, I would think your sig picture was the real thing.

I agree Trev, quite stunning workmanship there. Wall removed above to demonstrate.

    Sorry, No Eyebrow.

    Mike,

I'm sorry but I dont have any Eye Brows for either side. I wish I did though! Airline Pilot Historical Society (APHS) has the right ones for about $150 or so. But, I've emailed them several times and they do not respond to any of them...

I kind of believe that you, yourself don't need the real thing. The work you do proves that you get pretty darn close to the real items. So, I'd say go with your gut instincts and I bet it'll be fine.

    John
