    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

I got a 7chance to try it but it doesn't seem to work. I read the manual and I'm really not sure what I should or shouldn't change in the config file. I've tried it on my netbook running Windows 7 starter and on another laptop running windows 7 home editon. Both computers were running Widefs with a connection to another computer running FSX. When I try to run in compatiblity mode I get a very brief GI window (looks like the SA_WXR configuration window)and then it shuts down with an error message saying config file error? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Shawn

    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

Getting nothing here but a quick screen of black, then blank, no window at all. However, does this need to be installed on the computer where the CDU is or ND is; we're using Project Magenta and assuming SA_WXR works with PM. Also, the only thing in the download above was the setup.exe (in a zip file), no manual, or anything else.

Can someone shed a little more light on this please?

    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

SA_WXR installs to your C drive/Programs folder, you'll find the manual there.

I'm curious if anyone has this radar intalled on a windows 7 machine? When I try to run in compatablity mode I get a config file error? The user interface flashes breifly and then shuts down automatically. I have turned off UAC and Window defender but no luck. SA_WXR is not blocked by my McAfee firewall?

    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

I have now tried this file on every computer in the house and no luck. I'm starting to wonder if the file might have got corrupted during the upload? or maybe it's missing a file? When I try and run the radar, the program starts up and almost instantly shuts down. I'd really be interested in any advice anyone might have. I'd like to build a physical weather radar but need it to be networked. I've searched but this program is the only one I can find.

dont you need a hardware dependent key for SA-WXR. Allways used to be that way when it was still available for sale.

    No key - no functionality.

I was under the impression that the final version 1.7 was released as freeware and didn't require a key? If it was available for sale I would happily buy it.

Not completely on point but perhaps you could try this. RealityXP WX500 It does work in both FSX and FS9 not sure of WideFS compatibility though?

I had a look at that Ronson but it's not widefs compatable. I have the Garmin 530 that they make though and it's fantastic software. If they ever release a networkable version I'd buy both.

    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

Ok, I've got this figured out now. Version 1.7 wasn't intended as freeware, the update didn't require an activation key but it did look for version 1.6 that did require an activation key. Long story short, the software isn't available for sale anymore so were SOL.

P.s For those members who thought I was looking for a free copy of a payware product, I honestly thought version 1.7 was a full version, freeware install. I would never have asked for a copy of a payware product.

    Re: Where to find SA-WXR?

Considering that you do have the SA_WXR installer available:

I do have SA_WXR fully working from a WIN7 PC via the network to my B737 Navigation Display WIN XP computer.
All modes can be selected via the Radar Panel in my "radiobox".
The Radar Panel can be interfaced via a Bodnar Card, SYS1 card or similar.
On/off of the radar image is selected via WXR button in the EFIS controller, in my case a CP Flight EFIS controller. The radar image will be displayed in the ND of Project Magenta.

To help you I have uploaded my SA_WXR directory content and the CFG file content.
Further than that I cannot help, and you do need to read the manual thoroughly.

The freeware licence code Florian issued (sa_wxr.lic) should read those lines:

    florian.praxmarer@direkt.at
    Florian
    Praxmarer
