No, thank YOU for doing this! And the best part - I got a set! Can't wait to see them!

Now all we need is for Nihad @ Simknobs to make knobs for that panel as well. The request has been placed, and I won't be surprised if he makes those knobs!

If you haven't seen the knobs he makes, check this link:

Scroll down a little. There's also a few pictures at the MIP part of my site, showing the goodies on panels.

As promised Via PM for those who are wanting more of these little panels off me here is a little update on the next batch being cooked up

Firstly laser cut, 6 sets in total, I said i was doing 4 but things can go wrong making them so I always make extra to start off with.

The naked panel after machining and before annealing and chemical cleaning

    Painted up

Then zap the poor buggers with yet more lasers

First batch of lightplates done, they now have to sit here for 72 hours before I can drill them for there backlighting, just got the bolts to paint up and produce the backplates and paint those

  4. Thanks Padraig, Matt Olieman, Trevor Hale thanked for this post

This is the most incredible thing I have ever seen.

Phil, thanks for showing us this. I didn't realize that the laser was actually visible laser, not to mention I had no idea it would be red.

I gather you would want to keep your hands way clear of that when it is running.

    This was amazing.

    Thanks again

The red laser is only used to allign the panel, basically it draws to panels outline from which i use to set the panel, the white laser does the actual etching.

You definitly dont want to get your hand cought up in there, it actually dont do anything to your skin but shine right through and engrave the bone, I think i have "autobrakes max" tatoo on my thumb bone

As a former Paramedic/Firefighter I had the pleasure of delivering children and to see life being born in front of you is an absolutely miraculous thing.Without a joke watching these panels being literally born is amazingly close to the wonderment and thrill as seeing a human being coming into this world. The amazement I have for this level of craftsmanship and creativity and artistry is something I truly cannot fathom. Phil you are truly an Artist of the highest calibre. Please dont misunderstand my comparison of the beauty of human life to that of an inanimate object however I am merely trying to explain the similarity of awe and wonder I have experienced at seeing both these amazing events happen in front of my eyes Our hobby has been taken up many notches because of people like Phil, Gwyn and others whos craftsmanship beguiles even the most skilled craftsman.

So true! And even better: I get to see MY panels in the making! Two of those plastic pieces will be mounted in my sim. That's fantastic!

Thank you Phil, for doing this!

Now, where do I get one of them lasers?
