Radio Contact v4
Hi,
Is anyone using this software. I usually fly off-line and was looking for a better ATC package than the stock MSFS one and read a few reviews on this product. Thought I'd check with you guys to see what exerience you have with this product. Does it work well flying off-line? Any inof greatly appreciated. I use the PMDG 737NG so that shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks
Rob

Rob,
Yep, use it and love it. Works for both FS9 and FSX and can run on a network PC so ATC can come from your headset while aircraft sounds come to speakers from the main PC. It's quite sophisticated and is worlds above the stock ATC but requires a bit of reading to get it right. Forum support is also good if you have problems. I have even used it in conjunction with online ATC, however it can result in clashes and I found I'd drifted into online controlled airspace without clearance. Online controller wasn't happy!
Highly recommended particularly if you prefer to fly off-line. And no I'm not affiliated with Radar Contact in any way. Head on over to the forum on Avsim and read about it.

Agree totally with what Ken said - its a must have if you don't want to fly online.
Cheers

I too must agree with the above replies.
I've been using Radar Contact since ver1.1 and it really is a great piece of work.

Hi,
How to set transponder with RADAR CONTACT ?
I fly a 737 sim with full PM set but I have no communication pedestal.

Mounty,
Yup it definitely is good to go and very close to actual ATC. Have fun with it.

Tony,
The Transponder is automatically set in FS once you acknowledge ATC with the initial clearance, however I'm not sure how it will interact with PM.

Hi Ken,
Without RC4 all was going auto (ini.file settings of PM).
Com and transponder changed when acknowledged.
After installing RC4 only com changes auto.
RC4 now keeps on nagging for setting the code and quits after a while.
Kind regards
Tony

Maybe a search of the RC forum on Avsim will reveal something or contact John Dekker directly via the RC website. I suspect he doesn't use PM either but may know of others who have solved it.
Best of luck,
Ken.
