G'day Ian, I'm relatively new to MyCockpit bit I have been a devotee of you website for many months. Just got off emailing Leo who advises that though the item is not advertised on his website, they are available for shipping immediately (got mine in already) for 45 pounds plus postage.
Keep udating your site as its a wealth of invaluable knowledge for new builders like me.
Regards,
Gordon

hello captains.........
just for your information......
BU0836X is now up on Leo's site at http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836X/
i've got one on the control board and it's working really well. i didn't realise it's 12 bit resolution, so the axes are going to be really accurate.
no diodes, no matrix board, so takes up 1/3 room of the usual setup - RESULT
and the connection is sooooo easy.
i've tried it out with the Opencockpits CTS288 rotary encoders and some others i got off e-bay and it doesn't skip a beat.
been playing with hooking the encoders up thru FSUIPC and assigning them to elevator and rudder trim, both working perfectly.
anybody know of any 2 bit dual encoders that i can use on the N1set and Spd Ref ?
hello gordon........ this card is the dog's danglers )
i'm planning a reasonably serious upgrade this summer on the cockpit computer and wiring systems and the BU0836X is going to save me so much grief. you'll love it.
the encoder capability has really opened up some new avenues for us. when i have finished playing, i will put the details on my site and post them here, but that will not be for a month or so because i have too much to do getting everything finished for the upgrade.
but i have already assigned two encoders on the card and assigned them in FSUIPC, one for manual elevator trim (in my TQ) and one for rudder trim on my pedestal (they both work fine with the PMDG).

So this card also works with encoders other than the CTS288? I bought those Chinese encoders off ebay (10 for $20AUD), which don't work with the OC interfaces, but if they work with Leo's card it will be a boon to this hobby!
Looks like Leo's getting another order.
Ken.

hello chums........
ok, the two bit gray chinese encoders which ken mentioned (shown in my earlier post), do work with the new BU0836X card.
i have hooked up a couple this morning and BINGO )
this is where i got them from. GB£8 (US$16) delivered for 10 and he throws in the knobs.
great source of cheap high intensity LED's as well (and he throws in the resistors).
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sure-Electronics. takes about 7-10 days to arrive, but hey they're cheap.
i also tried some alpha 4 bit encoders and they work as well.
so, we're cooking now.
regards to all...... ian

Hello,
I have purchased the BU0836X and connected some buttons for some test.
It works great.
Now,i have a problem with Reality XP and FSUIPC,when trying to assign buttons.
What i wanted was to assign a button for the Reality xp gns430 power switch.
As i already have a gear button in my cockpit i do not need the G key and want it to assign it to my desire.
So,i went to the config file in Reality xp folder and assign the "G" to power switch of the GNS 430.
Then i went back to FSUIPC and select it inthe "press for key" window.
And assign button 1 for it.
Then,it works with the keyboard, when i press "G" the GNS 430 turns on and off.But with the button,it does not work.
Can anyone could tell me what i am doeing wrong?
Thanks.
Olivier
