Both the models look great. Here is a link that might be handy for you. It's the MS25212 milspec for panels. I'm guessing it's same for commercial panels too.

    http://assist.daps.dla.mil/quicksear...t_number=40767

Click the Reversion C PDF icon. Hopefully this'll help with measurements.

    My notes:
    DZUS holes every .375"
    Backmount Al plate .040"
    Light Plate Thickness .230" +- .023" (I use .25" plexi)
Light Plate .047 +- .016" smaller length and width than backmont plate

    Nice job!
I tell you what, if there was such a thing as the holodeck, I would be in there flying a 747 all the time. It would be the ultimate experience. Program the holodeck to have the 747 docked at Heathrow. Passengers are loading in and I would have an all female flight crew

Aw man when are they going to invent the holodeck......

    Hello Phil,

Do you have a drawing of the measurements of the 744 overhead?

I'm tring to find them on the net but after a lot of searching nothing yet.

    Wow,

this is very good work. I do modelling but rendering and placing decals is still uncharted territory for me.
I do know that the 360 photo view renderer of SolidWorks 2010 has a light emitting property for materials - almost time to start asking the helpdesk about this

I do plan to make panels like this, but then technically correct - complete with all the switches, knobs and other hardware.

Please continue your good work - this gets me inspired to try and do it even better

    Rob

    Re: B747-400 Cockpit Project WIP.

A bit surprised I found this thread that I started way back when The modeling project was shelved a while back and now I'm resurrecting it. I don't have the overhead panel model anymore but thats ok. I'm starting anew and I started modeling the 747 throttle quad. Keep in mind, its probably not going to look exactly like the real thing but it will closely resemble it. Here's the facebook gallery link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=8826d4af69

Its a public link so you don't have to be logged into facebook to view it.
