for the MCP I use 7-seg displays
the other text you see (V/S, IAS, etc) is milled on the backside of the dark glasses (I painted them first black where the text is milled)
I use some leds to display every text I use.
And yes I milled also the panel with my CNC.
    Regards,

    Henk.

    No, 38 + 7 = 45 outputs per Master Card.

    BTW
I recommend to start small, so buy one USB expansion card and one MC. Expand further when neccessary.

Well I was considering 1 usb expansion card, 1 mastercard and 2 display cards.

I typically want a full MCP and EFIS and NAV1 and NAV2 radio. I am sure that will be enough cards? For now...

If you want to be able to dim your displays you only have 15 digits per display card. So you will need 3 displayII cards ... (for MCP, EFIS, NAV1 + NAV2)
If you take 4 digits for IAS/MACH (which is better) you also need 3 displayII cards ...

And if you have 3 displayII cards it is easier to connect two to one MC and the third to another MC. You can use standard IDE cable (with 3 connectors) for that. Of course you can connect up to 4 DisplayII cards to one MC but then you have to make a cable yourself.

So a nice start would be 1 USB exp, 2 MC's and 3 Display II cards.

    Thanks for the info Nico!!

I won't really worry, at this stage, about dimming. So I assume 1 USB expander, 1 master card and 3 display cards will do the trick? I can make the IDE cables - no problems.

hmmm, perhaps 2 mastercards... then i can do a "little" more

And then when i get them, they will be kits to keep cost down, do i need SIOC or something?

OK so i tried to order the cards online last night. The only problem is it uses PAYPAL or bank transfer. I can't use PayPAl - well i can but I can't get money out of it if the exchange rate changes the way it is doing. I was hoping it would be a simple credit card transaction. bank transfer is difficult as i need to get into a bank.

Perhaps i will go the PHCC route or something...
