I'm afraid this is a little off tangent but i am trying to upload a picture attachment to my thread but it only lets me have a maximum of (i think it was) 480Kb ish and my photo(s) were 3.6mb so i cannot upload. how do you get the photo to reduce in quality thus reducing its size so it is allowd on here.

Sorry about starting a thread but i just dont know and i dont know where else to get the answer from.

    cheers,

    Hi there,

there are numerous ways of doing this.
I use a freeware program on my PC for viewing pictures (irfanview)
this program also allows to resize/resample a picture or even a whole bunch of pics
you can even select the compression rate for jpg outputs and also there you can reduce
the size of the picture (of course some quality loss)

If you're using Windows OS, it comes with a prorgram called "Paint", it's in your "Accessories" folder in "All Programs." This will allow you to reduce your photo size.
