    Glareshield

    Why is the glareshield called a glareshield. I can't see what shielding it does

    It shields the instruments form the sun and more importantly it shields the windscreen form the lit up instruments at night! Without the shield you would get nasty reflections on the wind screen.

    Thanks. What/where is the glareshield then. All diagrams I've seen arrow the MCP!

    The "glare Shield" does contain the MCP but it is like the dash board of your car. The top the runs back to the windshield. Hope this helps.
