    Smile I'd better introduce myself

    Hi everybody,

Well I think I'd better introduce myself. Let's start with me first:
I'm a software engineer living in Manchester, (although my boss is convinced he'll make an electrical engineer out of me!). I'm 24 years old. I've always had a passing interest in aviation, I even occasionally get in a plane and jump out.
I think the first version of flight simulator I ever used was FS 95, although I've only really taken it seriously since FS 9 came out. I much prefer procedurally flying commercial jets than GA planes.

I fancy putting my electrical and software skills towards building a home cockpit. But I don't really know where to start so I think I'm just going to lurk around for little bit and listen and learn. My initial thoughts are towards making a 767 cockpit (I have a selection of 767 manuals, I believe it's a decent aircraft on both short and long haul and it has a few analogue gauges).

For the time being though I am just here to pick up ideas, where to start? What do I need first? Etc...

Hey Ben. Welcome to the Madness.. If you weren't sure if you wanted to build a cockpit, Just wait to see how you feel in a week or so. You will be more then willing to jump in and get your feet wet. Please stay as long as you like, and have a great look around. The photo Gallery might just eb a good place to start.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best regards.

    Cheers Trev,

I've had a look at the photo gallery, that certainly a source of inspiration.

    Hi, welcome

Living in the UK (- bridlington to be precise) there certainly isn't much flight sim interest in the way of visits, events, etc. The best place to get hold of stuff is ebay. as you may already know i'm building a 737 pit and 767 is another standard 2 engine any range aircraft that can be used for anywhere basically most builders like to keep a reasonably broud range of aircraft that they fly eg 2 engined.

good luch with the future sim!
