    Five Point Harness Installed

Now I'm finally ready to permanantly install the back, finish the edges and get a coat of primer and a few coats of paint on the chair.

I wanted to use shoulder bolts for the lap belt anchors, but no one had one with the specs I needed. Instead, I used two 3"x 5/16" 24TPI grade five bolts (that I happen to have from an unused puller) with a section of brass tubing and two washers to flare out the head of the bolt a bit and the other to keep the brass tube from digging into the wood.

The crotch strap is anchored with a strip of aluminum bar stock with washers underneath to space it out from the front of the seat bucket.

    Thanks Matt.

I'd really like to do something about the suspension, but on the plus side no one can see it when it's in position anyway.

But I know it's not correct.

Thanks to Brissydave for the tip about the material for the foam. Every upholstery site said he same thing.

I used Rayon however. I want to keep the sharp edges of the cushions. I rather like this look compared to the more rounded look of the real seat cushions.

The feeling of immobility and security while strapped into that chair is really something. I've never been strapped into a seat like that before.

Ain't that the truth. Think of them as the dust boles only your wife can see just before guests come over.
