I did something similar to what you're trying to do: make a bigger flightstick from logitec force 3D stick. my mechanical solution : http://www.simprojects.nl/flight_stick.htm
You most likely need bigger motors to drive the bigger stick, otherwise you hardly feel the FF. Keep in mind that the logitec electonics have limited current capability. I used current buffers electronics.RR
