Saturday's WIP pics
Here's what got done on Saturday for the cockpit kit project.
The windscreen frame is made from 1/2" MDF and the monitor deck is made from 1/2" OSB. It was skinned with 1/8" hardboard and the top platform is made from 1/4" MDF.
I'm hoping to have this ready to go before the end of the year.

Yes, it is very nice. I can't wait to see the final product.
It is small enough to mount on a motion platform also.God's in command, I'm just the Pilot.

Mike: Thanks!
AndyT: Thanks. The cockpit is 6 feet long and less than four feet wide. It also breaks down into three sections (left, center and right side) for easy transport & storage.
DAL900: The design is very similar to the Me-109E4. This was done on purpose because it's much easier to build angular shapes from wood (primarily the windscreen and canopy assemblies) than it is to build curved sections. This is especially important for the home builder that doesn't have a lot of tools to make the job easier and the experience needed to build more complex structures.
