Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
I have been using FsPand for my backup gauges and a modified version of Gert's PFD/ND on another monitor. However, he never had the engine gauges for a fighter.
So, I broke down and order all of the engine and fuel gauges for a twin engine fighter. I also ordered a Flaps gauge and a generic gauge, which I plan on making into a G-meter.
I swallowed hard before pressing the "Buy" button. That is a lot of money for a hobby. Oh well,
I will let you guys know how they work out when I get them working.John

Re: Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
Yes, I know. LOL You did scare the crap out of me. I emailed Mark of Flight Illusions. Here is his reply:
Hi john,
according to your order sheet, the gauges you purchased are standard hgauges
that work with our software. The PMsystem program is only needed to drive
OVH gauges from the B737.
I'm not sure what you intend to do with the generic gauges, but if you are
making electrical gauges or flap gauges or pressure gauges, then there
should be no problem, as all these functions exist in Flight simulator and
the values can be used to drive your own gauges.

Re: Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
Hi John,
I hope you get everything working the way you need it to work. I was also hoping that you might have some imformation concerning a script for the flight Illusion flaps 1-40 flaps. I have it all hooked up. but I need the script. I hope you or someone can help me in this matter.
Thanks,
Capttlm

Re: Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
I have not received them yet. I too ordered a flaps gauge. I read the downloadable manuals and it seems fairly simple to set one up. However, I haven't tried yet. Here is the link to the download page. I hope it helps.

Re: Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
About half of my Flight Illusions gauges showed up a week ago. I am still waiting on four more gauges and two Collins radios. Emailing Mark from FI, it seems the radios are holding up the order.
My first impression with the gauges is good. They seem well made and look good. I don't know if it is because they rushed part of the order out for me, after my complaining on the delivery time? But, they provided ribbon cable and cable connectors, rather than ready made cables and connectors. No big deal, except a couple of the cables I made didn't work and I had to buy some extra connectors from a local electronics supplier.
I have them in the panel and did a test. Looks good. One thing I am impressed with is their program that allows you to set the gauge to any offset provided by FSUIPC. I bought a generic gauge and using a bmp from a G-Meter gauge from FSX, I printed out the faceplate for my G-Meter. Using their little configuration program I had my G-Meter working within 30 mins.
Once all the gauges are in, I will write up a review of the entire experience.John

Re: Just Ordered Flight Illusion Gauges
Everything is in and mostly installed. I am waiting on the paint to dry on the radio mounting panel. Tested and calibrated them last night.
I will soon be writing an official review for Mycockpit on the gauges.John
